Susan Jamison is one of my favorite figurative contemporary artists working today. Her vision of surreal dialogues between nature and man caught my eye years ago and I have followed her enthusiastically since. Her newest show, Swallowtail, opens this weekend at Irvine Contemporary and it is not to be missed. Susan’s newest work mines the same visual territory as previous shows, but explores deeper themes of overt sexuality and female power roles. See images from the entire exhibit here.
