There’s not much to say about Louise Bourgeois that images of her artwork can’t say better. She was a 21st century bridge to times and periods past, her work referenced an era and style many had forgot about. And yet, her pieces, especially her grand spiders, were monolithic and modern. She and her team of assistants, artisans and metal workers created scenes and creatures that would inspire and fascinate millions around the world. She had a singular, unique vision that many considered dark and sinister, but through her eyes and handiwork were filled with emotion and humanity.
