Nils Volker – One Hundred and Eight

One Hundred and Eight is an interactive wall-mounted installation mainly made out of ordinary garbage bags. Controlled by a microcontroller each of them is selectively inflated and deflated in turn by two cooling fans.”

American Beauty jokes aside, this beautiful piece, design by Nils Volker, could be a wonderful installation in large public places like urban parks and concourses, speaking to a a larger issue of waste and recycling in an inventive and visually appealing way.
