Trevor Young – Non Places

While browsing online through the works currently being shown at Miami’s Art Basel, I was taken by the Washington DC artist Trevor Young‘s series entitled “Non-Places”. In the spirit of Edward Hopper, Trevor paints non-descript, or forgotten places (convenience stores, gas stations) but often in hard, broad strokes, creating a sense of portent and drama, where one would seemingly not think to find it.
